About
Reviews with nothing to sell you.
Most 'best AI coding tool' roundups are affiliate copy wearing a listicle. This one names the tradeoffs first.
The Build Report exists because most coverage of AI building tools — Claude Code, Cursor, MCP servers, Obsidian setups — is either vendor marketing repackaged as a review, or a listicle optimized for a keyword instead of a reader. We use these tools daily to build real software and write down what actually holds up.
Two rules govern every piece here. First: no sponsored or paid placements, ever — a tool earns a mention by being genuinely useful, not by paying for it. Second: every factual claim — pricing, feature availability, launch dates — carries a source, and where we can't verify something with confidence we say so instead of guessing.
Some links on this site are affiliate links, clearly marked, and some point to Vaultsmith store, a companion shop selling Obsidian and Claude Code templates. Neither changes what gets written — see the disclosure in the footer.
